Quinta do Piloto Reserva Red 2022
Quinta do Piloto promises to showcase the essence of Palmela wines at their best. This promise is rooted in the excellence of terroirs where old vines of traditional grape varieties such as Castelão and Moscatel shine.
Vinified using ancestral methods of the region, guided by the knowledge passed down through four generations of the Cardoso family, Quinta do Piloto wines are elegant expressions of native grape varieties, with small quantities of selected grapes chosen for their excellence.
Produced from grapes grown in a small old vineyard located on Monte at our Herdade de Agualva. The predominant grape variety in this vineyard is Castelão, although in the past, small percentages of other varieties were always blended to enhance complexity and intensity. Planted in sandy soils, the resulting wine is intense, complex, and elegant.
Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels with extra fine grain, followed by a minimum of 12 months in the bottle.
